Electrical Engineering Alumnus Awarded by the International Electrotechnical Commission

AMS Corporation Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Engineering Manager Chad Kiger has been named a 2021 recipient of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) Award. Also known as the IEC 1906 Award, it is presented each year to honor international experts in recognition of exceptional achievements to advance IEC activities in a significant way.

Kiger graduated with his BS and MS degree in electrical engineering from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, in 2004 and 2005, respectively.

Kiger is a nationally certified professional engineer and is licensed in the state of Tennessee. During his 16 years at AMS, he has performed EMC qualification testing in nearly 100 nuclear facilities in the US and abroad. Kiger currently leads the development of the IEC Standard 62003 to establish instrumentation and control system testing requirements for the safety of nuclear power plants.
