Graduate Programs
EECS offers MS and PhD degrees in electrical engineering, computer engineering, and computer science as well as MS-MBA degrees in each of the three disciplines. In addition to these in-person programs, EECS also offers a fully online MS degree program in computer science geared toward working professionals.
MS Degrees
Typically, MS degrees may be completed during three semesters of full-time study or two to three years of part-time study. We also offer a fully online master’s degree in computer science geared toward working professionals. Obtaining a PhD takes four to five years of full-time study for students who enter with a BS degree and about three years for students who enter with an MS degree. The department also offers an MS-MBA program in each of the three disciplines.
Phd Degrees
PhD degrees takes four to five years of full-time study for students who enter with a BS degree and three to four years for students who enter with an MS degree. Students divide their time between course work and dissertation research.
Assistantships
Many graduate students serve either as teaching assistants or research assistants or a combination of both. Assistantships come with tuition and fee waivers as well as health insurance and a stipend. Contact Benjamin Blalock regarding graduate teaching assistantships. Contact individual faculty members regarding graduate research assistantships.
