Shimul Dam received his BE degree in electrical engineering from the Department of Electrical Engineering, Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India, in 2013, his ME and PhD degrees in electrical engineering from the Department of Electrical Engineering, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India, in 2015 and 2020 respectively. After his PhD, he worked as a postdoctoral research associate for one year at the Indian Institute of Science and two years at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

Since 2023, Dam has been a Research Assistant Professor in CURENT. His research interests include cryogenic power electronics, wide-band-gap power electronics, power electronics for medium voltage and electrified propulsion, EMI filter design, and power electronics for battery management and energy storage systems.
