Accessing TA/Class Accounts

The ta_login script allows you to login to a teaching assistant (TA) account. (If you have not already registered for a TA account, see Registering for a TA/Class Account.) Once you have successfully logged in, you may execute ta_login again in other windows without needing to re-enter your passphrase. If you exit a TA account session in any window (by typing exit), the other open sessions will remain connected; however, you will be prompted for your passphrase the next time you use the ta_login script.

Running the ta_login Script

To use the ta_login script, enter ta_login and the username for the TA account at a Linux prompt. You will be prompted to enter your passphrase. The following is an example of how to login to the cs140 TA account.

prompt> ta_login cs140
************************************************************
Please type exit after you are finished using your TA account.
************************************************************
Enter passphrase for (account):

After you are finished using the TA account, close the session by typing exit in each window in which a TA account session has been opened.
