Microsoft Imagine

What is it?

Microsoft Imagine puts professional developer tools, software, and services in the hands of faculty and students with low-cost subscriptions from Microsoft.

Students receive developer tools from Microsoft Imagine at no cost – everything needed to create apps, games and websites – so they can chase their dreams, create the next big breakthrough in technology, or get a head start on their career.

Imagine does not provide free Microsoft software for anyone that requests it. The EECS program administrator is responsible for administering, managing, and enforcing the guidelines set by Microsoft.

Who is eligible?

Current faculty, staff, and students in the EECS department are eligible for the program, while alumni students and students planning to take courses in the future are not.

Other UTK academic departments (including other College of Engineering departments) must apply for Microsoft Imagine memberships directly with Microsoft.

Please review the Microsoft Imagine FAQ for additional information.

How do I access the web store?

For on-campus WiFi access, connect your device to the “eduroam” network. Off-campus connections must be made through the UTK VPN.

What technical support is available?

The EECS department does not provide technical support for products obtained through Imagine. The department is also not responsible for any damages that may result from proper or improper use of the software obtained through Imagine.

Limited support can be obtained from Microsoft, however, from the following resources:
