JICS (UTK-ORNL) is looking for a graduate research assistant (GRA) for developing parallel informatics applications and improve existing middleware software wrappers for current parallel applications.
This GRA will have the opportunity to work on world's elite supercomputers such as UT's Kraken supercomputer (a 1.17PF Cray XT5, the world's first academic petascale supercomputer), UT's Beacon (Cray system with Intel MIC devices, #1 on Green 500 list for Nov 2012), and Keeneland (GPGPUs based) and others. This GRA will also be working on developing automated workflows for these platforms and publishing their results.
The graduate research assistantship includes competitive pay along with tuition waver and health insurance.
The requirements for this job include proficiency in C or C++, MPI or CUDA, and scripting languages (Perl, PHP or Python). JAVA and HTML is a plus with good writing and communication skills.
