Work Description

Supports the Engineering staff by updating drawings, gathering data, and inspecting facilities in the field.  May also perform duties such as, but not limited to, assisting with designs and reviews for Engineering projects including electric distribution and transmission line designs. Utilizes Microstation to produce various drawings, maps, and other design tools.  Other projects, duties, and tasks will be assigned as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must have and maintain full-time student status
  • Must have and maintain a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 or higher
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Must be available to work a minimum of 15 hours per week, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7:00am-5:00pm
  • Good oral and written communication
  • Must possess basic computer skills
  • Physical Demands: Sedentary Work: exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.  Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve bending, stooping, reaching, walking or standing for brief periods of time.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completion of some sophomore and/or junior-level Civil or Electrical Engineering course work
  • Experience with Microstation or other related applications
  • Has an interest in the electrical power systems field

Phase 4 Written, performance, and behavioral exercises

Phase 5 Background investigation

Phase 6 Physical assessment and/or drug screen
