Overview

Be a part of an engineering design team responsible for low and medium voltage electrical analysis as well as design and retrofit of switchgear, motor control centers, and panel boards. You’ll be involved in power generation, assisting in designs which support the delivery or electrical power to all of Tennessee, the Eastern United States, and the Southern United states. Responsibilities

  • Perform data acquisition at power generating facilities throughout the Eastern and Southern United States
  • Perform electrical analysis such as arc flash, short circuit, load flow, motor starting, coordination and protection
  • Perform lighting calculations of industrial and office space for new and retrofit designs
  • Provide cost quotations for large corporations who require yearly upgrades to their electrical distribution equipment
  • Be familiar with IEEE standards for arc flash scopes and deliverables
  • Be familiar with NFPA standards for safety in the workplace (70E)

Required Qualifications

  • BSEE with an interest in power
  • Ability to communicate with clients on a professional level
  • Sound communication skills to coordinate with other engineering disciplines to assist in completion in multidisciplinary designs
  • The ability to explain to engineering topics to non-engineering based project managers to explain project scopes and deadlinese

Desired Qualifications

  • Fundamentals of Engineering Exam
  • Graduate course completion of power systems analysis
  • Familiarity of power analysis software such as SKM or ETAP
  • Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering
