The Patient Care Pathways Department at the University of Tennessee Medical Center is seeking a Humble, Hungry, and Smart engineer/scientist to join our fast-growing team.  The primary role is to develop, integrate, and deploy sound technology into Patient-Centered Clinical Care Pathways and Workflow.  We are a Lean Six Sigma shop with wide range of exciting work from patient care process improvement to clinical data analytics, and integrated Electronic Health Record (EHR) tools development.

The projects include but are not limited to PL/SQL programming, JavaScript programming, and LSS implementation.  You will be working with and learning from our technology-loving medical director and a team of informatics pharmacists, nurses, and engineers.  Please join us and become our “Pathways Developer” now.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Develop Web Reports, Report Distribution, and Ad-Hoc Queries
  • Custom Cerner MPages Development
  • Design and Program Tableau Dashboards
  • Build effective tools in EHR with custom JavaScript and Tableau

Qualifying Skills

Desired Programming Skills

  • Experience in Oracle PL/SQL, Microsoft T-SQL
  • Program RDL and Develop Microsoft Reporting Services Dashboards
  • Proficient in JavaScript, CSS, and JSON
  • Some expertise and hands on experience with Web Applications and programming languages such as HTML, JQuery and API’s.
  • Good understanding of browser rendering behavior and performance

Plus Skills

  • Microsoft Reporting Services and/or BI
  • Tableau
  • Experience in healthcare organization
  • Cerner CCL
  • Web Services REST, SOAP
  • Lean Six Sigma
  • Experience in data migration/conversation using SQL*Loader
  • Working Knowledge of PL/SQL Packages, Procedures, Functions, Triggers, Views and Exception handling for retrieving, manipulating, checking and migrating complex data sets in Oracle

General Skills

  • Excellent people and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in basic Microsoft Office Suite/365 Tools
  • Electronic Health Record Application
  • Health Level Seven (HL7)
  • Strong understanding of UI, cross-browser compatibility, general web functions and standards.
  • Strong grasp of security principles and how they apply to E-Commerce applications
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools
