Background

Dr. Li is an assistant professor in Electrical and Computer Engineering at The University of Tennessee. He is also adjunct participant at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). He received his BSEE and MSEE degrees from Southeast University, Nanjing, China in 1994 and 1997 respectively. He then received his Ph.D. degree from Virginia Tech in 2001. He had worked at ABB from February 2001 to August 2005 as a Senior R&D Engineer and then a Principal R&D Engineer before joining UT. His current interests include various aspects in power systems such as reactive power, voltage stability, energy markets, distribution systems, reliability, computation, and utility application of power electronics. Dr. Li is a Senior Member of IEEE, a Member of the honorary society Sigma Xi, an Editorial Board Member of Int'l J. of Power and Energy Systems, and a reviewer of IEEE Transactions on Power Systems/Power Delivery.
